Happy Times

We are slowly recovering from Holiday it seems, and so Christmas finally gets put away, and normality starts to take its routine once again.  Ricky has started school, only taking 6 credits this semester, but a busy 6 credits it will be as he is also continuing to work fulltime at US Bank, and his performance there, has been well above average.  And of course, my favorite, he also comes home to be the best Dad and Husband we could ask for.  Braxton is turning from baby boy to toddler very QUICKLY! I thought he would never go through the terrible two's, but I fear they are rapidly approaching.  However, he is a joy and light for me throughout my day.  Which brings me to today's post.  I let him play with an "old friend of a toy" today.  He jumped, he climbed, he giggled, he laughed, he GUT rolled, he played, we played.  I had to pull out the camera and capture this moment, as it reminded me of when he was 6 months old and loving this toy.  We have been busy!  But times like this help me to slow down, and enjoy these short years that seem to come and go so quickly.

READY FOR A NAP???

Family & More Family

New Year & New Happenings!

We had a lot of fun over the Holiday breaks! My sister and brother came into town for a couple of weeks, making the entire family together over the holidays. It was a blast! We ate Chilean food, played basketball, went sledding, celebrated Christmas, watched movies, ate delicious food & celebrated the New Year. I love this special time of year that allows us all to be together and make new memories and reminisce about the old ones!

In January, Ricky's parents were about to fly up for a visit. Boy have we been busy! Braxton has not had a dull moment with all the family around. I am so glad that Ricky was able to see his family over the holidays and to enjoy some time off from work and school as well. I love seeing him with his family and the opportunity it has been to see him finally "relax" for a bit.

We are very excited about this upcoming new year! We have a lot of goals set, along with some new and exciting things coming our way! We love you all!

Christmas 2010 & More

This Christmas we had a blast! We were able to get our Christmas cards out BEFORE Christmas! This is the first year we have done them, and we are hoping continue to tradition! We spent a lot of time at my parents home in Pullman. My sister Britney & oldest brother Brent were able to fly home from Nebraska and Illinois and join us for the holidays till school begins again in January. I love being around family, especially during this special time of year. We could not get enough of Braxton's expressions however(pictures below), during these last few weeks. Some of his new words are "Choo Choo" and "Yeah, Yeah", and ready, set, "Go!" We have had a blast teaching him new words, but along with all the great things, the terrible two's are rapidly approaching, and we have already began to see glimpses of the tantrums and complaining. Eeeeek!

But all is well for us, Ricky survived another semester of school, doing well in all his classes. He has in addition performed very well at his US Bank Branch and has received some awards for his excellent level of performance. I am so proud of him.

As for me, I love being at home with the boys, they take good care of me, and make life a joy!

Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving!

We had a lot of fun this thanksgiving!  We went out to my aunt Laurie's this year with the rest of the fam!  We had a white Thanksgiving this year!  TONS OF SNOW!  It was absolutely beautiful.  We gave Braxton some snow, and he didn't know what to do with it, so he just held it.  It was pretty cute!  I made 3 pies this year, 2 were pumpkin and the other was blackberry/raspberry pie.  I even made all my crust this year from scratch!(totally worth it)  We also brought the green bean casserole, crispix mix(on my food blog), rolls, and games!  We had a lot of fun and the roads weren't too bad for traveling.  We are excited for Christmas now!

Thoughts on a food Blog?!?!

So I have been thinking about doing this for a while now. I have really wanted to start a food blog. Recipes, mistakes, tips, life lessons...haha...etc! I have really had to learn a lot on my own about cooking. My mother has played a big role in this adventure as well! I used to be good at cooking "certain" things...cookies, waffles, taco soup, etc. That was about the extent to my cooking. After I got married, I started to take a greater interest in cooking, baking, etc. I love it! I love to try new simple recipes and add some of my own touches and WA-LA--a meal, a treat, a drink! Let me know if you think I should do this!
