The Adventures of Cash and Brax.

Say hello to this little guy. His name is Cash.

Say hello to this big boy.  Braxton.

Today, these two played together.  I wish I was able to capture more of their silliness and playfulness on camera, but unfortunately, I was playing too.

So yes, today, we remained in our pajamas, we emptied baskets of toys, played with empty boxes and messed up the house.  Bliss.

The little boy & his silver car.

Once upon a time there was a boy named Braxton.  He LOOOOVED to play with cars.  He played with them ANYWHERE.  One day, his mother found him playing quietly in the window sill.  No distractions, no other toys, just him, and his one silver car.  Mother watched with smile on her face as he started to discover yet one more place for his car to drive.  The blinds.

What joy came over this little boy, as he carefully, specifically and meticulously placed his silver car, in the blinds

A sense of accomplishment, pride, and a "I did it" face as he stared at his car.
Then he smirked at his mother.  Which of course made mother laugh.

So there that little silver car sits, in the blinds, in the window sill so quietly and patiently, waiting for this little boy, to come back.

Moments later, he DID come, and he played, he smiled, and we laughed.  And I thought to myself, "Oh the joys, of motherhood."

Baby Boy Nephew Winterbottom!!

Today Ricky had the day off, and we accomplished A LOT it seemed like.  At the end of our day, we got to cap it off with seeing our newest nephew(who still has not yet been named).  It was a delight, and a beautiful reminder of how some of the most simple joys come from the most simple things.  It's always a pleasure to hold a newborn.  They are so pure and beautiful.  I was able to take some quicky pictures to capture some of the moments we were able to admire.  Mandy is doing well.  Their baby boy was born at 9lbs 5 oz & 21 inches long.  He is a GIANT & hardly newborn material.  He does not even fit into newborn clothes.  But he is healthy and growing already!  Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Times

We are slowly recovering from Holiday it seems, and so Christmas finally gets put away, and normality starts to take its routine once again.  Ricky has started school, only taking 6 credits this semester, but a busy 6 credits it will be as he is also continuing to work fulltime at US Bank, and his performance there, has been well above average.  And of course, my favorite, he also comes home to be the best Dad and Husband we could ask for.  Braxton is turning from baby boy to toddler very QUICKLY! I thought he would never go through the terrible two's, but I fear they are rapidly approaching.  However, he is a joy and light for me throughout my day.  Which brings me to today's post.  I let him play with an "old friend of a toy" today.  He jumped, he climbed, he giggled, he laughed, he GUT rolled, he played, we played.  I had to pull out the camera and capture this moment, as it reminded me of when he was 6 months old and loving this toy.  We have been busy!  But times like this help me to slow down, and enjoy these short years that seem to come and go so quickly.

READY FOR A NAP???

Family & More Family

New Year & New Happenings!

We had a lot of fun over the Holiday breaks! My sister and brother came into town for a couple of weeks, making the entire family together over the holidays. It was a blast! We ate Chilean food, played basketball, went sledding, celebrated Christmas, watched movies, ate delicious food & celebrated the New Year. I love this special time of year that allows us all to be together and make new memories and reminisce about the old ones!

In January, Ricky's parents were about to fly up for a visit. Boy have we been busy! Braxton has not had a dull moment with all the family around. I am so glad that Ricky was able to see his family over the holidays and to enjoy some time off from work and school as well. I love seeing him with his family and the opportunity it has been to see him finally "relax" for a bit.

We are very excited about this upcoming new year! We have a lot of goals set, along with some new and exciting things coming our way! We love you all!

Christmas 2010 & More

This Christmas we had a blast! We were able to get our Christmas cards out BEFORE Christmas! This is the first year we have done them, and we are hoping continue to tradition! We spent a lot of time at my parents home in Pullman. My sister Britney & oldest brother Brent were able to fly home from Nebraska and Illinois and join us for the holidays till school begins again in January. I love being around family, especially during this special time of year. We could not get enough of Braxton's expressions however(pictures below), during these last few weeks. Some of his new words are "Choo Choo" and "Yeah, Yeah", and ready, set, "Go!" We have had a blast teaching him new words, but along with all the great things, the terrible two's are rapidly approaching, and we have already began to see glimpses of the tantrums and complaining. Eeeeek!

But all is well for us, Ricky survived another semester of school, doing well in all his classes. He has in addition performed very well at his US Bank Branch and has received some awards for his excellent level of performance. I am so proud of him.

As for me, I love being at home with the boys, they take good care of me, and make life a joy!

Happy Holidays!
