STP 2011

STP TIME!!!!
This last weekend, my hubs, Braxton, Mom, Dad & I made the venture to Seattle for my dads big bike ride to Portland.  We had a blast to say the least.
A few highlights:
- The amount of stops we made for bathroom breaks, I think we probably beat a world record or something:)
-Braxton was STUPENDOUS!
-Enjoying the pool/hot tub at the hotel
-Outback Steakhouse
-Getting up at 3am to start the big day!
-IHOP for breakfast!
-Cheering on my 55 year old dad in the bike ride
(which he beat his time last year by 10 minutes and averaged close to 19mph the entire 204 mile ride)
-Taking photos
-Walkie Talkies
-having a gps literally saved us!
We had so much fun, it is always so inspiring to watch my dad throughout this race, and even more so, to finish it.  He has more mental strength to endure endure endure that I hope to someday be able to have.
Till next year:

Happy 4th of July!

Fourth of July is my FAVORITE holiday of the year, I love all the great food, things to do, fireworks and more importantly, all the wonderful friends & family you get to share it with.  We had a cram packed day it seemed, but that is how I love it!  We got up in the morning and ventured over to Pullman, for my parents ward breakfast.  (A nice hot breakfast is always a great way to start off the 4th!)  Then, we had some lunch that afternoon at a park with some great friends of ours who were in town to visit.  After that, we headed off to the Moscow Aquatics Center for some fun in the sun & water!  We were there for a couple of hours, Braxton had a blast!  We left the aquatics center and ran back over to Pullman for a BBQ at my parents and to watch some fireworks.  Ricky and I were able to get some sparklers earlier that day to have for the evening!  The kids loved them!  From my parents house you can see most of Pullman, and it was neat to watch all the fireworks going off, not to mention, the BIG firework show at Sunnyside Park.
Overall, we had a GREAT day!
This coming weekend, we are gearing up to cheer my dad on in his 2nd year ride of the Seattle to Portland bike ride.  This year my mom will be able to go as well.  I can't wait!

A Weekend without my hubby:(
This is the first time we have been apart since Braxton was born.  And the only time before that, was when I was pregnant with Braxton during Thanksgiving.  I was able to come up a week earlier to spend some time with my family.  But this, it was different.  I didn't realize I would miss having my best friend around SO much!  Especially since Braxton LOVES seeing his daddy when he gets home from work.  This new job ricky has started has been quite the change up for our family.  A good change nonetheless, but difficult at times.  We don't get to see dad as much, and when he does come home, he is SO tired from work.  But Ricky does a GREAT job sacrificing some sleep time, to spend with family.  We have really been trying hard to do a few things differently as a family.  One, is that we have been eating dinner at the table, without any distractions!!!  This has been SOOO nice!  We also have been getting Braxton into a bedtime routine.  This has involved, Daddy reading to him in his bed.  Nothing melts my heart more than to see dad and Braxton reading together.
But as for my lonely weekend, what does a girl like me do?!?!  I spent the weekend at my parents.  Braxton and I had so much fun and had to keep busy(to not think about dad:)  SOOOOO, several photos later, we have our weekend.  ENJOY!
